A new impact-absorbing mechanism has also been developed to improve impact resistance and further protect the mirror frame. Positioned between the body and the mirror frame, the new mechanism enables the Tough 1030SW to pass drop-impact tests from a height of two metres, or higher than eye level for the average adult male. The perimeter of the body is further protected by a stainless steel frame capable of withstanding pressures of up to 100 kgf .

Reinforced to withstand water pressure at all key points, the Tough 1030SW is waterproof to depths of up to 10 metres, enabling divers or snorkellers to enjoy the world of underwater photography without using a protective housing. The UFL-01 has been designed and specially customised for use with Olympus Digital cameras and Underwater Housings.
Waterproof up to a depth of 40 metres, this underwater flash is one of only a few that allows TTL underwater flash photography in slave mode. This means it improves the over all lighting capabilities underwater, giving you greater image quality and makes diving and underwater photography a whole lot more enjoyable!
The flash unit is also ideal for multiple flash applications, single flash macro shots and is incredibly compact and light weight (Less than 300g).
