Whether it comes from the images we see at the movies or on television, the pictures of the beautiful and mysterious deep are planted in our minds. There is something about the ocean that keeps bringing us back time and time again. Now you can experience this adventure first-hand by becoming a certified PADI scuba diver today. Join us and experience what its like to become weightless and glide over the ocean's bottom or to pause and watch rays "fly" past you. This is scuba diving and there's nothing else like it on earth.
The Indepth Scuba PADI Open Water dive certification courses are designed to maximise your scuba diving fun, comfort and safety. We can structure scuba diving lessons around your needs and your own individual requirements. Our scuba diving course is not a factory based program. The dive course you are about to undertake comprises modular theory lessons, pool training and ocean excursions. Fully qualified PADI instructors conduct all aspects of the course and Indepth offers the most modern training systems so that you can be assured of the very closest attention to your safety and well-being.
You can chose to complete the PADI Open Water course at either our Canberra Store or our Batemans Bay Store, see below for our schedules.
Dive Schedule: CANBERRA ( 2 weekends )
• Monday night – Introduction/Orientation night.
Dive medicals are also conducted on this night, 6:00pm to 8:30pm
Weekend #1 at Indepth Scuba
• Saturday – Dive Theory, 9:30am to 4pm
• Sunday – Pool Skills, 9:30am to 4pm
Weekend #2 down the Coast
• Friday Night accommodation check in between 7pm & 11pm
• Saturday – Open Water shore dives 1 to 3, 8am – 5pm
• Sunday – Open Water boat dive 4,
Dive Schedule: BATEMANS BAY ( 3 FULL days )
Day #1
• Dive Theory, 8:30am to 5pm
Day #2
• Pool training & Open water dive 1, 830am to 5pm
Day #3
• Open water dives 2,3,4, 830am to 5pm
• Classroom and pool training sessions
• 2 nights accommodation at the South Coast at our dive lodge.
• All training materials – PADI Adventure Pack which includes log book, manual, dive tables.
• Passport photos for your certification card.
• PADI Open Water Certification Card.
• 3 Shore Dives & 1 Boat Dive.
• Use of a complete scuba kit.

Dive medical in accordance with Australian Standard, A.S 4005-1 (1992). $110.00 (if you don't pass your dive medical, we will refund the course amount paid and 50% of your dive medical fee).
Mask, snorkel & boots. You will receive a great discount from us if purchased whilst you are on course.
Bed linen - sleeping bag and pillow for the coast weekend.
Transport to and from the coast.
Diving with all your friends is great fun, so round up the troops and learn to dive together!
To qualify for a group booking all members of the group must book and pay for the same courses at the same time.

Your accommodation is included in the course, at no extra cost.
We have our very own dive lodge located at Catalina, Batemans Bay, just 4kms from town. It is capable of sleeping up to 20 divers comfortably, with a large kitchen and 3 bathrooms, lockable gear storage, washing facilities and a great outdoor area. Diving with us is always fun and convenient!
Indepth Scuba, PADI and Australian Standard's Association require that before you start your scuba diving course you must fulfil certain pre requisites.
These include:
• A Dive Medical examination to Australian Standard 4005.1-1992,
• Minimum age is 12 years, no maximum age. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.
• You must be able to complete a 200 metre swim & be able to tread water (float) for 10mins.
These pre-requisites are designed to ensure that you are able to complete the course safely and confidently. Our instructors are only too happy to help you complete any details to ensure your smooth progression through the above pre requisites.
Dr J.Howe is our diving medical practitioner, and will conduct your dive medical here at the dive shop for you on the first night of your open water course.
Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving.
For example: heart disease, asthma, epilepsy or diabetes.
If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. Australian medical standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia.
Please Note: In the interests of safety we recommend that you should not fly within 24 hours after your last dive. All prices are in Australian Dollars.
So you are now ready to sign up for your PADI Open Water Course, we strongly advise you to pre-book your course as availability may be limited, especially over summer. You can pre-book and confirm your place on a course by contacting us with your credit card details for a deposit, or via email or just pop in and see us at the shop. A $150.00 deposit is required to confirm your placement.
If through no fault of Indepth Scuba you decide to quit the course before the completion we will give you a pro rata refund where you pay only for the instructor's time and consumables (log book, text books, booking fees, photographs and administration costs). If you fail your dive medical, we will refund your course costs, conditions apply.
