The Indepth Scuba PADI Open Water dive certification courses are designed to maximise your scuba diving fun, comfort and safety. We can structure scuba diving lessons around your needs and your own individual requirements.
Our scuba diving course is not a 'factory based program'.

The dive course you are about to undertake comprises of modular theory lessons, pool training and ocean excursions. Fully qualified PADI instructors conduct all aspects of the course and Indepth Scuba offers the most modern training systems so that you can be assured of the very closest attention to your safety and well-being.

Course cost:

$535.00 per person

Dive Schedule:

Monday night – Introduction/Orientation night.  Dive medicals are also conducted on this night, 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Weekend 1 @ Indepth Scuba Canberra Dive Centre, CISAC, Belconnen

Saturday – Dive theory
Sunday – Pool training

Weekend 2 @ Batemans Bay, NSW

Saturday – Dives 1 to 3
Sunday – Dive 4

Inclusions:

  • Classroom and pool training sessions
  • 2 nights accommodation at Batemans Bay at our dive lodge.
  • All training materials – PADI Adventure Pack which includes log book, manual, dive tables.
  • Passport photos for your certification card.
  • PADI Open Water Certification Card.
  • 3 Shore Dives & 1 Boat Dive.
  • Use of a complete scuba kit.
  • Pool entry.

What you need to provide:

  • A Dive medical in accordance with Australian Standard, A.S 4005-1 (1992). $110.00 (if you don't pass your dive medical, we will refund the course amount paid and 50% of your dive medical fee).
  • Mask, snorkel & boots. You will receive a great discount from us if purchased whilst you are on course.
  • Bed linen – sleeping bag and pillow for the coast weekend.
  • Transport to and from the coast.
  • Food & drink

Pre Requisites:

Indepth Scuba, PADI and Australian Standard's Association require that before you start your scuba diving course you must fullfil certain pre requisites.

These include:

  • A Dive Medical examination to Australian Standard 4005.1-1992,
  • Minimum age is 12 years, no maximum age. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.
  • You must be able to complete a 200 metre swim & be able to tread water (float) for 10mins.

These pre-requisites are designed to ensure that you are able to complete the course safely and confidently. Our instructors are only too happy to help you complete any details to ensure your smooth progression through the above pre requisites.
Dr J.Howe is our diving medical practitioner, and will conduct your dive medical here at the dive shop for you on the first night of your open water course.

Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving.
For example: heart disease, asthma, epilepsy or diabetes.
If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. Australian medical standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia.

Please Note: In the interests of safety we recommend that you should not fly within 24 hours after your last dive.
